Let’s Leap!
Aligned with the Star
Leap Day is marked with traditions and wild lore. For about 2,000 years, we’ve made adjustments to keep our calendar aligned with the revolutions around the sun. If we didn’t adjust the calendar by adding a day every four years, in just 100 years, our calendar would be off by 24 days!
The Little Things Add Up
Did you know we also have Leap Seconds? According to International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service, our most recent addition was on December 31, 2016, at 5:59:60 pm. I missed it. Did you? I don’t like to miss a moment, but it passed without much fanfare. I don’t manage my calendar by the second, but I want to make my moments matter.
Let’s Make the Most of It!
Think of Leap Day as a bonus gift. This is an excellent day to take a closer look at your calendar. Does it align with how you want to be investing your life? Whether it is simple or sophisticated, use this day to think about what you really want to do with your next moments or go through your calendar to evaluate if there is something that could be celebrated with a little more fanfare!
Take it to Heart:
- Set aside time to look at your calendar. Is it aligning with your top priorities?
- Is there someone or something that should be celebrated?
- What spontaneous fun can you add to your calendar to celebrate Leap Day?
