Inspired to Give
Nature is generous. The sun rises each day, pouring out light and warmth with no expectation of thanks. Trees offer shade and shelter, whether anyone notices or not. Flowers bloom, their beauty shared freely with whoever passes by. Again and again, the Earth reminds us that true giving asks for nothing in return.
At this month’s Reflective Walk, our guests followed nature’s example. From the beautiful blooms of the Giving Garden, they created forty bouquets. Each was paired with a handwritten note and delivered to residents at Chaska Heights Memory Care. The flowers carried the colors and fragrance of summer, but even more, they carried a message: You are remembered. You are valued.
The residents could never repay this favor, and that is exactly what made the gift so meaningful. It was giving in its purest form — a generous act flowing outward without condition. In the process, both givers and receivers were touched. The garden gave to us, we gave to others, and love kept moving forward.
Take it to Heart
- Look around today and notice: What is being given to you without cost? The coolness of a breeze, the song of a bird, the color of a sunset.
- What do you have to share? To whom would you like to be generous?
