Living in Full Color
“Life is a great big canvas; throw all the paint you can on it.”— Danny Kaye
A blank canvas doesn’t become beautiful with one bold brushstroke. It comes to life one layer, one color, one thoughtful stroke at a time. Our lives are built the same way, not by a few grand moments, but through countless small choices to engage, create, love, and begin again.
Nature never seems to hold back. The meadow blooms with wholehearted abandon. The sunset paints boldly across the sky and birds greet the morning with their own song. There is something wonderfully freeing about the way nature gives itself completely to each season.
Living in full color isn’t about filling every hour or chasing extraordinary experiences. It’s about bringing more of ourselves to the moments we already have. It looks like listening with your full attention, lingering over a conversation, trying something creative, watching the sunset, or simply pausing long enough to notice beauty. These ordinary moments become the brushstrokes that create a meaningful life.
We hosted twenty local artists to paint along the trail for our Reflective Walk. The artists stood before the landscape, observing the light, the shadows, and the colors before placing each brushstroke on the canvas. Each day offers us a new opportunity to intentionally create something beautiful with our life.
Living in full color isn’t about adding more to our lives. It’s about bringing more of our hearts to the life we’re already living with one brushstroke, one act of kindness, and one moment of wonder at a time.
Take it to Heart:
- Choose one ordinary moment today and give it your full attention.
- Create something simply for the joy of creating: a sketch, a meal, a garden, or a conversation.
- Ask yourself, “What brushstroke can I add to my canvas today?”
