Inspired to Shine

“Shine! The world needs your light.” |
Look What’s Waking Up In early spring, the forest floor at Charlson Meadows quietly comes alive. Before the trees unfurl their leaves and the canopy closes in, tiny wildflowers—known as spring ephemerals—make the most of the sunlight. For just a few precious weeks, they bloom beautifully, soaking up every bit of sunshine before shade returns. Their season is brief and special. These little blossoms show us that we don’t have to wait for perfect conditions to shine. Even in cool air and uncertain days, they don’t wait for everything to be easy or warm; they simply soak up whatever light they can find and grow. The Time to Shine is Now Perhaps your own light feels small or fleeting right now, and you might be waiting for a “better time” to step forward. Let these dainty little blooms inspire you. Sometimes the time to show up is now. Sometimes the world needs exactly what you have to offer today. Here’s the beautiful thing: when we shine, we naturally brighten the lives of others. The forest floor looks different because of those tiny blooms, and our families, communities, and friendships feel different when we show up fully as ourselves. A Little Light Goes a Long Way Even a small act of kindness, creativity, or courage can brighten your corner of the world in ways you may never fully see. This spring, may we notice the fleeting treasures all around us—and may we trust that our light, like theirs, truly makes life better. Take it to Heart Spend time outdoors this week and look for signs of early spring. What “small lights” are already shining?Reflect on one small way you can brighten someone’s day this week. |
